Jacob Edwards Library Chess Park and Performance Space
“A place for everyone across the Board”
The Chess Park Ad Hoc Committee has started the fundraising phase for the project. The library has hosted a chess event on Saturdays for some years and look forward to developing an open-air venue.
Any and all donations (including in-kind contributions) are welcomed. To avoid any processing fees, cash and checks may ne handed in at the Information Desk at the Library. Otherwise, cash, check, credit card, Venmo, PayPal donations can be made through the Southbridge Town website under the Unipay box, please visit: https://www.ci.southbridge.ma.us

- Bricks: $ 200 each
- Large Chess Pieces: $ 500 each
- Chess Sets: $ 75 each
- Chess Tables: $1000 each
- Etchings
- Large Chess Board Squares Etching: $ 250 each
- Granite Seating etching $ 250 each
Donor Levels
- King: $ 50,000 +
- Queen: $25,000 to $49,999
- Rooks: $10,000 to $19,999
- Bishops: $5,000 to $9,999
- Knights: $1,000 to $4,999
- Pawns: $100 to $999
Any amount donation accepted.
All donations are deductible by Internal Revenue Code § 170. The Jacob Edwards Library is considered a department of the Town of Southbridge and IRC § 170 applies.
